This is one of those pet stories that gives you chills.
Bernard is the first picture. Isabella is the second.
I am posting this for all Westarbor clients and blog readers to enjoy. I hope you find this as magical as I did.
Gale,
Isabella was adopted from the Huron Valley Humane Society and I started unfolding this story after I found out who owned her because I was looking for medical information on Isabella. And as I did get the information the following story has unfolded.
This was not at all our plan since we have always had pets that were either abandoned or given to us because people did not want to take care of them.
Bernard was very special in our lives and lived with us for 13 years of his 17 years here on earth.
We then realized that we were lost without a pet so determined since one was not going to come to us we need to go find it. Hence, the Humane Society. My goal was to get a mature older cat, preference a male and maybe one with a disability or one that no one else would want.
Here is how the Isabella story goes and how we came about adding her to our family.
Her owner named Amy was a young lady who passed away of pancrititis cancer in 2010.
Bernard’s illness was pancrititis cancer.
I have a sister named Amy.
Isabella with her pet friend, were dropped off at the Huron Valley Humane Society on the same day that we had to send Bernard to Heaven.
When I went to the Humane Society to adopt another cat that I had seen on a website, when I walked into the room, there she was and I said “Oh My Gosh!” She was attentive and adopted me immediately. Even though there were not good notes about her adjusting to humans. As you know by meeting Isabella and by the pictures why this has such a surprising message.
We adopted Isabella on the same day as the young ladies birthday that passed away.
Isabella will never be able to replace Bernard, just as every pet we have had has never replaced the one before.
But I am grateful because she is a wonderful cat with a wonderful personality that I did not give up so easy about having another pet and did go out on my search for a new addition to our family.
I went to the cemetery where the young lady was buried and told her I will take care of your Isabella here on earth, if you will take care of our Bernard in Heaven.
There starts a new chapter in Isabella’s life here on earth, and the beginning of a new life in Heaven for Bernard.
